2024 State Legislator Prayer Teams

Many across the state have verbally committed to have their church pray for our leaders in the 2024 legislative session. Now is the time to sign your church up to take a day and pray according to 1 Tim 2:1-4.

The first few weeks have already been well covered. Next week and beyond there are a lot of open days. Would your church, organization or prayer team commit to pray on one of the days?

Please take the earliest days on the calendar first so we can cover every day with a church. There are more details on the signup page.

We keep hearing from elected leaders how much they value our prayers. As we have talked with them the testimonies of how they see God answer prayer in their lives is remarkable.

1 Tim 2 instructs us regarding prayer:

1 First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, 2 for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. 3 This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

A pastor from western Nebraska asked if the churches around the state could partner together and do a better job of fulfilling this call to prayer. He observed what took place during the 2023 Legislative session. He received the prayer requests from the Tuesday senator's prayer gathering and was challenged that we could and should fulfill this commission as the church in Nebraska.

We are inviting churches across the state to "take a day on the wall" to pray for our leaders, both locally and those serving in Lincoln. There are two sign-up calendars - one for churches from the Lincoln/Omaha area and one church from outside the metropolitan area.  Sign up below for your church's  day to pray - as a congregation - for our leaders, especially the senators.

Sign up to pray:

A prayer guide will be sent to each congregation as a resource for your time.

Our leaders value our prayers.
