What Happened in April and what is coming up.
What a month! Thank you to many of you who asked if our family is ok as Nebraska experienced several tornados last Friday. Our family was out of the path of the damage near Lincoln. We are thanking the Lord that he preserved life while the most powerful tornado the country has seen in 11 years destroyed hundreds of homes and businesses in Elkhorn and across North Omaha.
Many have asked if there is a way to help. As neighbors in Nebraska, we are good at showing up for those in need in our community, especially in times of tragedy. This is no exception. Hundreds of people showed up over the weekend and into this week to help salvage belongings and clean up debris.
If you would like to support the efforts our friends at Rapid Response have teams working and Relevant Church in Elkhorn is helping to handle resources.
Tomorrow, Thursday is the National Day of Prayer. We have many things to bring before the Lord. We would encourage you to join together with believers from your community to pray. In Lincoln, Capitol Studies will be hosting a time of prayer from 10:45 until 11:45 for individuals and small groups in the Warner Chamber at the State Capitol. Nebraska Family Alliance will then host the official state observance from 12:00-1:00 also in the Warner Chamber.

We have so many things to pray for. Elections, Ballot Initiatives, Life Issues, Israel, Ukraine, and so much more.
Lord may your will be done in Nebraska as it is in Heaven!
The Gathering Network and NECLF hosted a Unity and Conflict Conference in Lincoln this month. Alex Rousseau did an excellent job substituting for our main speaker who couldn't join us due to the tornados between Lincoln and Omaha. The conference's premise was that we are called to unity, John 17:20-23 and it is a gift. However, conflict is inevitable. The sessions went through principles and tools for how to walk through times of conflict and demonstrated practical ways to address conflict in a healthy manner.
Oasis is a monthly gathering in Kearney for pastors and leaders in central Nebraska. Pastor Mitch Ivey does a great job of refreshing and encouraging each month.
There are many pastor's gatherings every month. One such gathering was hosted by Pastor Gary Fuller. We had prayed with another group of pastors earlier that day and the messages shared between the two gathers tied together a specific encouragement. Thank you for the invitation!
F Street Neighborhood Church hosted the Lincoln Worship Leaders luncheon. We love this reminder of our call to Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the ends of the earth.
First Responder Chaplains from Nebraska and NECLF staff traveled to Colorado at the invitation of the Rocky Mountain Police and Fire Chaplains. Be on the lookout for more information as we will share how to support (or become) a chaplain to police, fire, sheriffs, and state patrol.
The Table Coffee Shop and Gather at the Table Ministries have a new location. They have moved just down the block in the old market and their new address is 1122 Howard.
The Table has lengthened their cords and stretched out their tent pegs. They used to be in two spaces, the coffee shop on the ground level and a second-floor worship space. Now they have moved from the upper room out onto the street. With three times the space as before and an expanded menu as well as boutique shopping (top photo) we are sure they will continue to be one of the top-rated coffee shops in Omaha.
If you are in Omaha stop by and support this business and ministry. Use the links above for business hours and for a schedule of ministry times.
In a recent conversation with a leader we are assisting in starting a ministry the question was asked, "Do people know what you need?" In the last few months, I have realized many leaders do excellent work. I am also seeing how much of this work is hindered, to varying degrees, due to a lack of funding. How much more could be accomplished if workers in ministry had the finances to focus more on their mission? Fundraising and support raising is a reality in today's ministry landscape and we are not unique in this challenge. DawnMarie, we would appreciate your partnership.
